Have a question or a problem? The answers to the most common questions are below. If yours isn't there, see Contact. In the app, you can also open Settings → How to Play at any time.

Common questions

How do I play?

Drag the pieces from the tray below the board onto the 8×8 board. Pieces don't rotate. When you fill a whole row or column, it clears and you score points; clear several lines at once for more. Clear again within three moves to keep a combo going. When all three pieces in the tray are placed, you get three new ones.

There are three ways to play: Fuse Mode (endless, with fuses), Classic (endless, no fuses), and the Daily Puzzle.

What are fuses?

A fuse is a dark tile with a glowing number. Every piece you place counts it down by one. Clear a row or column that runs through the fuse before the number reaches zero to defuse it. Fuses appear in Fuse Mode and the Daily Puzzle, never in Classic.

Why did my run end?

A run ends in one of two ways: a fuse counted down to zero before you cleared a line through it, or none of the pieces left in your tray fits anywhere on the board. The game over screen tells you which one happened.

It is never down to an impossible deal: every tray of three pieces FuseGrid deals can be placed in full on the board it was dealt for. Where you put the earlier pieces decides whether the rest still fit.

How do the Daily Puzzle and streaks work?

Each day, everyone gets the same board. The goal is to defuse two fuses. Meet the goal to mark the day as done on your streak calendar; do it on consecutive days to build your streak. You can play the day's puzzle again to beat your best score for today.

Want a nudge? Turn on Daily Reminder in Settings and the app reminds you once a day, at the time shown, when today's puzzle is waiting. The reminder is scheduled on your iPhone.

What is Keep Going?

Once per run, when a run is about to end, you can choose Keep Going and watch a short video ad to continue. If a fuse ran out, its row and column are cleared; if there was no room left, two rows and two columns are cleared. It's always optional: tap No Thanks to end the run. If the ad doesn't load, you can keep going anyway that time.

How do I turn off sound, vibration or effects?

Open Settings in the app. Sound and Haptics have separate switches, which you can also reach from the pause menu during a game. Turn on Calm Effects for fewer particles and no screen shake.

Can I change the look?

The free Day and Night themes follow your iPhone's light or dark appearance when Match iPhone is selected in Themes. You can also pick Day or Night yourself.

How do I reset my scores and stats?

Open Settings → Reset All Data and confirm. This erases your best scores, statistics, streaks and settings from this device. It cannot be undone.

How do leaderboards and achievements work?

FuseGrid uses Apple Game Center. If you are signed in to Game Center, your scores go to the leaderboards and your achievements are saved to your Game Center account. Open Leaderboards on the Home screen, or Settings → Game Center. If you're not signed in, achievements you earn wait on your device and are reported the next time you sign in. You can sign in or out in iOS Settings → Game Center.

Why does the app ask about tracking? Where are my ad choices?

After your first game, iOS may ask whether FuseGrid can track your activity for ads. The game is exactly the same whichever you choose. If you say no, you still see ads, but they are not based on your activity in other apps. You can change your answer in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

Depending on where you live, Google may also show a privacy message about ads. If it applies to you, reopen it in the app under Settings → Ad Privacy Choices. Details are in the privacy policy.

Do I need an account? Will my progress move to a new phone?

No account and no sign-in. Your progress is stored on your device, and it moves to a new iPhone when you restore it from an iCloud or computer backup of your old one. Game Center scores and achievements stay with your Game Center account.

How to delete your data

Your scores, stats, streaks and settings are stored only on your device. To delete them:

  1. In the app: open Settings → Reset All Data and confirm.
  2. Or delete the app: press and hold the FuseGrid icon, tap Remove App, then Delete App. Everything the app stored on the device is removed.

Game Center scores and achievements are kept by Apple with your Game Center account. Anonymous analytics and crash reports are not linked to you, so they can't be looked up by name. See the privacy policy for details.
